100 Top Hospitals:

Baptist Regional Medical Center was selected as the 1999 Regional Winner by 100 Top Hospitals TM: Regional Benchmarks for Success Study

Quality Achievement:

The Quality Achievement (Level One) was awarded to Baptist Regional Medical Center from the Commonwealth of Kentucky Quality Council in 1999.

The Quality Achievement (Level Three) was awarded to Baptist Regional Medical Center from the Commonwealth of Kentucky Quality Council in October of 2000.

Top 200 Coding Hospitals:

Baptist Regional Medical Center was named in the Top 200 Coding Hospitals in the U.S. out of a total of 3,165 hospitals in 2006. The study was presented by HSS, an Ingenix company, a nationally recognized leader in solutions for streamlining coding, regulatory and reimbursement processes. HSS identifies hospitals that achieve higher than expected Medicare Case mix Indexes (CMI’s), a good indication of effective documentation and coding practices.

National Hospital Pharmacy Quality Award:

In December 2000, Baptist Regional Medical Center was honored as a recipient of a National Hospital Pharmacy Quality Award for outstanding achievement in quality improvement. This award was initiated nine years ago by Abbott Laboratories to honor hospital pharmacies for outstanding achievement in today’s challenging environment. The award is presented annually to the top ten hospitals selected by a panel of judges consisting of independent pharmacy advisors and representative from Abbott Laboratories. The judging is based on key areas of significance that includes:

• Improving patient outcomes
• Eliminating medication errors
• Increasing staff productivity
• Lower Costs
• Reducing waste

This is the first time Baptist Regional Medical Center’s Pharmacy has submitted a project. The submission was co-authored by Charla Cobb and Lynn McAuthur. Others participating in the project included: Cliff Niemeier, Dale Johnson, Delane Bunch, Jeff Frankowski, Ann Jewell and Jenny Hughes. Baptist Regional Medical Center would like to congratulate our pharmacy for an outstanding performance.

Quality Respiratory Care Recognition:

Baptist Regional Medical Center has earned Quality Respiratory Care Recognition (QRCR) for the second year in a row under national program aimed at helping patients and families make informed decisions about the quality of the respiratory care services available in hospitals.

The QRCR program was started by the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) in 2003 to help consumers identify those facilities utilizing qualified respiratory care. Hospitals earning the QRCR designation ensure patient safety by agreeing to adhere to a strict set of criteria governing their respiratory care services.

Governor’s Gold Quality  Award:

In 2001, Regional received the highest level of Quality awarded in the State of Kentucky, the Governor’s Gold Quality Award. Regional was the first hospital in the Commonwealth to receive this distinguished award and remains the only healthcare faculty to do so. This award is only given to those who strive for excellence and who implement “ world class” quality standards throughout their organization. Kentucky’s award is centered on the national Malcolm Baldridge award criteria.

ISO Certification:

Baptist Regional Medical Center today announced it has been awarded certification to ISO 9001, the internationally recognized quality management system.

The audit was conducted by QMI – SAI Global, a leading international registrar, making BRMC the only hospital in the State of Kentucky, and one of less than two dozen, in the United States with this highly esteemed certification. The certification represents a landmark in the hospital's quality roadmap and reflects a long-standing commitment the rigorous requirements necessary to remain certified.
