Educational Programs

Baptist Regional Medical Center's educational programs include Birthing Center classes, CPR Classes, diabetes education, Germbusters, hospital tours and a wide variety of speakers on health topics.

The Academic Scholarship Program is available for students in the healthcare fiedl.
Birthing Center Classes and Programs, including an Early Prenatal Class, Breastfeeding Class, Sibling Class, Prenatal Class, Refresher Course and Breastfeeding Support;
Community CPR Classes, to teach members of the community this life saving skill;
Diabetes Day Camp is a one day camp held each summer to help children between the ages of 6 and 15 learn how to deal with their diabetes. Cost is free. For more information, please call the Education Department at 606-523-8549.
Diabetes Smart. . .You Can Do It! which teaches diabetics management skills to care for themselves, thus improving blood sugar control and overall quality of life; and meets at Baptist Family Fitness.
Germbusters, a program which teaches children the importance of proper handwashing to prevent the spread of infections;
Cooper/Clayton Smoking Cessation Program, a program designed to help you quick smoking.

Other Resources to Help People Learn About Health Issues

Patients and families often have questions about their medical problems, treatment and what they can do to improve their health. That's why Baptist Regional Medical Center provides an online illustrated Health Encyclopedia featuring patient friendly health information right at your fingertips. Baptist Regional Medical Center also offers a wide variety of health topics with speakers provided designed to provide civic clubs, schools, businesses and other interested organizations with professional information. Hospital tours are offered to school groups and other community organizations. Finally, links to health-related web sites are included on this site.
